The Ultimate Fall: The Stallions lose against Varsity College

Inter-varsity was one of Rhodes University's remarkable events that provided sports teams, such as rugby, soccer, and basketball, with the opportunity to showcase their skills and sportsmanship.
On the other hand, Rugby plays an enormous role in South Africa's National identity. The sport brings about a national identity, unity, and hope that can be shared among South Africa's citizens, ultimately positively building up the country and its people.
The two-day event involved sports
people from Rhodes University, Nelson Mandela University, Walter Sisulu
University, and the University of Fort Hare. The Rhodes University team was
satisfied, winning nearly every game.
The Stallions (FNB Rhodes University)
experienced a boost of much-needed confidence after their win against Nelson
Mandela University with a score of 15-7. In their best effort, the Stallions
have exceeded their supporter's expectations. It is no secret that before
Intervarsity, the students of Rhodes University thought poorly of the
university's rugby team. The win served them the glory they for so long longed
for. The success brought a positive change in attitude towards the Stallions.
The grand finale came with the Rhodes
University rugby team, leaving the entire university in celebration and jubilation
as the team was crowned the Intervarsity champions. They restored the hope and
faith in almost all their supporters. The team has proven that it can play for
wins, thus leaving the supporters in intense anticipation of the next game.
Rhodes University celebrated the victory in a sports parade to show that the
team's dignity has been restored. Rhodes University played with unwavering
confidence, enthusiasm, and a remarkable improvement in their teamwork however,
the celebrations did not last that long as Varsity College cut the Stallions'
reign faster than they could score their winning try, dethroning them. Rhodes
University played against Varsity College; they played their hearts out. Rhodes
University led the game in the first half. Varsity College strengthened its
response following the break, winning with a score of 10-12.
The Stallions have been relegated and
this means they cannot compete in Varsity Shield. This setback devastated the
Stallions since they were ineligible to compete in the Varsity Club for the
following two years.
